Oh yay! I probably won't get to the new story tonight, but I should be able to do that tomorrow night... you have made me all curious now! :)

Oh, what a welcome change from the poor bone-less women of last time! This was all about spirits, not bodies, yay! Admittedly, I have no idea where Quinn got his India information from... it's like he's got Sikhism and Shaivism and Islam and who-knows-what-the-heck all mixed up together, ha ha. But at least this was a good-hearted ghost! It reminded me of a Doctor Who episode :-)

Just a few little things to check on (and all good with the edits on 3 and 4).

Section 5
17:58 sleep-disheveled men (di-SHEV-uld, not dishelled)
28:17 Stealthily, silently (not: stethily)

Section 6
0:20 the miscreant had come (MIS-cree-unt, not: miscredant)
1:17 out of the conceit (not: deceit)
6:21 reseating himself (not: repeating)
6:42 you do sleep (not: do you sleep?)
20:52 from the grounds outside (not: inside)

Allons-y as De Grandin would say! (and so too in Doctor Who ha ha)... I am very curious what is next!

Happy holiday weekend to you!

Ha ha, that one made me laugh! Plus no dead bodies: that was a nice change. And I loved burning his clothes at the end; don't mess with Jules De Grandin ha ha ha. Sections 5 and 6 all good, with just a few little things here:

Section 7
10:15 Daphne (DAF-nee, not Dapheen)
15:29 we do felicitate you (not: facilitate)

Section 8
6:45 grinning satyrs (the mythological creature is pronounced SAtur, not satire: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/satyr)
10:33 at their preceptor (not: perceptor)
11:50 Upon thy worshipers (not: up thy)
12:02 give us the boon (not: boom)

Now I'm worried that there will be extra dead bodies in the next story to make up for the lack of dead bodies in this one.... eeeeek!

Oooooh, what a great final story: I think that is my favorite so far... or at least it is a tie with the curse of the nun. What I liked about this one is that the Egyptian guy actually got to speak his piece in a serious way, even though we know that de Grandin has no sympathy for the Copts. Plus I love the idea of the fatal asp being like some kind of mummy's curse, just waiting there, wrapped in the bandages. Eeeek!

Just a few little notes:

Section 7:
10:15 Dapheen is still in there (along with the correct Daphne)

Section 8: all good!

Section 9:
2:35 brass-bound (not hound)
3:18 blazing Tophet (not Trophet; it's a Biblical place-name that's used to mean hell: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Tophet
7:01 molded to conform (not folded)
8:23 he glowered at us (glowered-rhymes-with-flowered)

Section 10
9:47 an' begin fortune-tellin' (not being)
18:27 leaped lithely (lithe: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/lithe)
18:43 some small, cylindrical object (not: cindrical)

Congratulations on yet another project read! Wow!!!! I'm about to leave for a quick trip out of town, but I should be able to check edits from on the road. Is there more de Grandin? These really are a hoot, and each one certainly is distinct and memorable!

I'm going to take a break from de Gandin and record Tom Clark & His Wife, The Rosicrucian’s Story, https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/35366. There are 2 more de Grandin volumes left and we'll get back to them if no one has picked them up by that time.

Were are you traveling too? Any place fun?

Seamless edits, ALL GOOD, yay!!!

And I'm excited for another Rosicrucian project; that sounds very cool!

And it's totally fun travel: I'm going to Berkeley and San Francisco. On Friday I'll be at the Internet Archive, the actual real place, to get together with the great people there, including Mark Graham, the computer guru who manages all the LibriVox integration at the Archive. I always have a fabulous time in the Bay area, and the weather looks good too (last time I was there it rained... A LOT ha ha).

I'll be back Wednesday next week, so if you get something up and running, make sure to list me as prooflistener! And I'll be ready to get started listening as soon as I get back home. :-)
