I recorded "The Flight of the Eagle - Alfred Coppel | 5,892 word count www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/64238,” but the text itself identifies the author as “Sol Galaxan.” (The name is a little suspicious - kind of like “Buzz Lighyear,” but that’s what it says). I used the printed name, Galaxan, in the filename and in the reading. If there’s an inside joke here somewhere that I’m not getting, let me know and I’ll re-record.

I will post something to icequeen to tell her what I did.tshoes76 wrote: ↑May 21st, 2024, 8:19 pm I recorded "The Flight of the Eagle - Alfred Coppel | 5,892 word count www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/64238,” but the text itself identifies the author as “Sol Galaxan.” (The name is a little suspicious - kind of like “Buzz Lighyear,” but that’s what it says). !! I have no idea how that happened - my Audacity skills must have failed me! Anyway, here is the fixed recording, with apologies for the delay. I also fixed the filename so it shows my initials, and not my screen name.brownrottger wrote: ↑May 10th, 2024, 5:58 pmAt 16:25-21:32 the pitch of your voice changes to an in human level, vaguely what I would consider Martian.tshoes76 wrote: ↑May 9th, 2024, 4:58 pm Here is Too Close to the Forest, by - Al Reynolds & Bryce Walton | 4,561 word count www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/73356

That's just a pseudonym. It was very common back then where authors limited the amount of stories they contributed under their own name for tax purposes and so the magazines appeared to be using a broader stable of writers than they actually did.tshoes76 wrote: ↑May 21st, 2024, 8:19 pm I recorded "The Flight of the Eagle - Alfred Coppel | 5,892 word count www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/64238,” but the text itself identifies the author as “Sol Galaxan.” (The name is a little suspicious - kind of like “Buzz Lighyear,” but that’s what it says). This is ready for PL! It's ok to record it under the pseudonym. Some do and some don't. It'll be listed in the catalog under their real name regardless.tshoes76 wrote: ↑May 21st, 2024, 8:19 pm I recorded "The Flight of the Eagle - Alfred Coppel | 5,892 word count www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/64238,” but the text itself identifies the author as “Sol Galaxan.” (The name is a little suspicious - kind of like “Buzz Lighyear,” but that’s what it says).
