Murder Mistress, by Robert Colby (1920 - 2004)

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/murder-mistress-by-robert-colby/

Volunteers outside the USA: Robert Colby died in 2004. This person's work may still be protected by copyright in countries where copyright duration is determined by the author's death date. In Europe this is 70 years; in Canada it is 70 years for authors who died after 1971; and in Australia it is 70 years for authors who died after 1955.
Scott Daniels is a washed up showbiz announcer who hit the bottle a few too many times and blew his big chance. But he starts to think his luck is turning around when, after a disappointing trip to New York to negotiate a comeback, he crosses paths with a sexy, sophisticated dame named Valerie who offers him five hundred bucks to show up to the scene of a car accident and sneak a large tan briefcase from the trunk of one of the cars. What Scott will soon realize is that Valerie is mixed up in the biggest bank heist in recent history, and Scott may have just found his meal ticket back to the big time. What Scott doesn't know is that Valerie has dangerous friends, and they won't give up the money so easily! (Summary by Ben Tucker)

Target completion date:

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!
