There is another small mistake I have made, but it relates to a future recording rather than a past.

For some reason, I had thought this was fifty-eight chapters plus an epilogue. As a result, there are fifty-nine slots in the magic window. There should be fifty-eight, as there are fifty-seven chapters before the epilogue.

When the epilogue comes, what should I say at the beginning? I was wondering if 'Epilogue of Pan Michał, by...' followed by 'Epilogue' is the correct formula or if there is something else when there isn't a chapter number.

We can delete any extra sections at the end, no worries.

"Epilogue" is a valid option, you can go with that, in which case I would end with

"End of epilogue. End of Pan Michael: An Historical Novel of Poland, the Ukraine, and Turkey, by Henryk Sienkiewicz, translated by Jeremiah Curtin."

I have also made a minor correction to Chapter 41 at the 41:04 point.

The correct phrase should be:

"The water plashed under his hoofs."

I originally changed this to 'splashed' as I thought it had been a scanning error with the original Project Gutenberg file. However, the word 'plashed' appears twice more in the text.

The corrected file has been uploaded.

Here are some minor alterations I have made to previous files (including the latest upload).

After discussing this with a specialist in the names, I decided that 'Cheremis', pronounced CHER-em-ees, was better than the 'Czeremis' ('cher EM ees) that I had used before. I have therefore rerecorded the fragments and uploaded the new files, with a few changes to the running time entered into the appropriate sections.

Chapter 22
You remember how I cut down that monster, or devil, Cheremis, who was guarding her.
12:27

Chapter 23
There people call them Lipki; but those here are known as Cheremis.
4:26

Chapter 32
"The first news is this, that Azja, who was to bring back to our service the captains of the Lithuanian Tartars and the Cheremis, is not called Mellechowicz, he is a son of Tuhaj-bej."
8:36

"Were there few of the Lithuanian Tartars and Cheremis? They were nobles a long time, and went over to the Sultan."

"Their privileges were withheld from the Lithuanian Tartars."
16:13

Chapter 36

And let Adurowicz, Moravski, Aleksandrovich, Grocholski, Tarasovski, with every man living of the Lithuanian Tartars and Cheremis, threaten the troops.
20:43

Chapter 38

A detachment of Cheremis, some twenty in number, marched five miles in advance to examine the road and notify commandants of Pani Wołodyjowski's journey, so that quarters might be ready for her in each place.
0:22

He was not near the sleigh; he was riding in advance with that detachment of Cheremis who were examining the road, and clearing away snow when necessary.
3:40

The sun went down, however, before they succeeded in passing the mountains; but the detachment of Cheremis, marching in advance, made fires of dry branches.
11:25

Pan Gorzenski, who commanded the infantry, had been informed by the Cheremis of the arrival of the wife of the commandant of Chreptiów, and rode out on horseback to meet her.
16:21

Chapter 40

The men in those bands were almost exclusively Lithuanian Tartars and Cheremis, therefore former inhabitants of the Commonwealth, for the greater part nobles; but since they had left its borders long before, during that time of wandering they had become much like wild Tartars.
12:32

Chapter 41

Cossacks, Lithuanian Tartars, and Cheremis, as well as Polish raiders of the steppe, knew how to find them, to answer their "methods" with "methods," and to attack as suddenly as if they had sprung up through the earth.
3:03

Chapter 46

some thousands of Lithuanian Tartars and Cheremis came, led by the terrible Azja, son of Tuhaj-bej, and these last were to be guides through the unfortunate country, which was well known to them.
4:02

"Light of paradise!" answered Kara Mustafa, "in the vanguard are the Lithuanian Tartars and the Cheremis; and thy dog Azja, son of Tuhaj-bej, is leading them."

I have rerecorded 'Chocim' instead of 'Hotin' in these two places:

Chapter 36

if he crosses to the Moldavian bank, the perkulabs are there, friends of Wołodyjowski, and Habareskul of Chocim himself, his sworn friend.
18:15

Chapter 43

The little knight had information of equal and even greater certainty, since it came from Chocim.
9:05

There is no change in the file length in either case.
