IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

And Chapter 1, Ready for PL! A short one to introduce Johannes before he goes off on his adventures. He definitely favours his dog over his cat - should I include a 'speciesism' warning for cat lovers?

Notes are below for you to check. You acquitted yourself better with that intro than I ever could have managed, with all that French! I am very much looking forward to the story of the dog, and of course, the accompanying boy. :) As for the cat, it sounds like he's too busy managing his own affairs to go off on any silly adventures with humans and dogs!

Section 0
1.09-1.15, bottom p v
...as of the Ship Argo, and the sagas [heard sages] of Heracles and Odysseus.

3.55-4.01, mid-page p 8
Indian literature was busy to this end in the Buddhist Jatakas or Birth-stories...
https://howjsay.com/how-to-pronounce-Jataka

5.56, top para p x
Is there a false start or stumble right before ‘Guignard’?

10.47-10.53, bottom p xiv
...of Andersen so akin [heard keen] in imagination to the primeval popular fancy...

Section 1
2.37, pp 2-3
...how pleasant it must be there among the water-plants, in that strange twilight...
I’m hearing a sort of self-made echo at the end of ‘twilight’ – it sounds a bit odd, could you see if you’re getting it too? It’s sort of like the stumble or false start above, but T...T instead!

Chapter 1 is PL OK.

As you've put this down for completion by the 30th, I should warn you that I'll be out of office at the end of the month and start of May.

Thanks for the heads up! At the rate I am going at the moment, I think end of May is more likely than end of April! Please take your time. Meanwhile, we do have Chapter 2 ready for PL...

Chapter 2 is PL OK.

I'm sure for some people entering info in the end date section of the form is a form of accountability, but it's just not for me. It's a self-induced guilt trip, a way of tempting fate or both!

Chapter 3 is PL OK. 0 is spot PL OK. This is just a notice that I'm still hearing the K and T in Jataka transposed. It's probably not a word you'll use very often, but I mention it as I tend to take a little bit more care with proper nouns, something of religious significance, etc. Although there are always those tricky words that everyone else can seem to say with no trouble at all but inevitably turn to mush in your own mouth. If this is one of those, I understand!

I'll be off LV for most of the coming week. Upload whatever, whenever and I'll PL later.

Chapter 4 ready for PL!

I'll correct Jataka - I picked on the error in the stress, but didn't notice I'd got the 't' and the 'k' the wrong way round!
