All else the same.

I agree. Hugo Gernsback was an exceptional editor, and I usually sift through his magazines as they become PD.

Thanks

The general in this story is probably the least violence-prone military leader I've read in stories from this era.

Hello West! Welcome to Librivox! This is an excellent recording :9:  Just two edits:
Only do a reader credit in the beginning or the end of the recording, not both. So just delete one of them.
Leave 5 seconds silence at the end of a recording. Need to add that on.
Thanks so much! Hoping you have enjoyed and will continue to contribute (I have some links below if you want to consider doing one or more sections in projects for which I am Book Coordinator  )
Best,
Christine

Excellent job, especially with keeping all the different character voices straight!

Written by George Sand ( a woman). It is a geneological mystery with intrigue and marionettes!

oh? interesting! I'll take a look at what you got... I'm not sure I can even comprehend what a "Geneological mystery" is... is it like a mysterious puzzle box being inherited by several generations of a family? (lol)

allright, this should be better. I did use a different computer with different audacity settings, so hopefully I configured the exporting right!

Thanks!

One small thing.. I made some timing adjustments (made some of the phrase/section breaks a teensy bit longer) to make it feel less rushed, on my listening.

New version (uploaded) is 40:38 in duration.

I didn't make any other/content edits, so hopefully this version doesn't need another listen-through?

Hello,

Before I start recording, Can you check that my selection fits the public domain criteria?

The story is called, "The Fifth Dimension," by Clare Winger Harris. It's from Amazing Stories, December 1928.

Well, unfortunately it appears that you are from Canada and Clare Winger Harris died in 1968. So her works won't be available for you for another 14 years (death + 70 years). The easiest way to check, assuming you've found a story here: viewtopic.php?t=98183 , is to take the author and look up their death date on https://www.isfdb.org/. If it's before 1954, you should be good to go!

Just as a random example, Edgar Wallace died in 1932, so his story "The Black Grippe" would be allowable. Ellis Parker Butler, who died in 1937, would be another example of someone OK for Canadians to record.
