I'm interested in doing this book as a solo: https://www.fadedpage.com/showbook.php?pid=20220152

It's Dr. Dolittle in the Moon published in 1928. Can I go ahead?

It looks to me like that text source is okay. While it has the 1956 copyright date on it, that's the 28th-year renewal of the original. So yes, this appears to be PD.
School fiction: David Blaize
America Exploration: The First Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart

OK Thanks. I wasn't able to find that information on the 1956 edition. How did you do that? :hmm:

1) Experience, knowing that works published in 1923 and later (for a while) had to be copyright-renewed 28 years after publication, or else they fell into the public domain. And math: 1928+28=1956.

2) I did look up the copyright renewal here: https://exhibits.stanford.edu/copyrightrenewals/catalog?exhibit_id=copyrightrenewals&search_field=search&q=Dolittle+in+the+moon and it was renewed by the wife in 1956. 8-)

I asked Al Haines to see about posting this to PG-US. He was the PM for it at DPC.

This has cleared and been posted to PG-US. This is just the fadedpage copy. No actual changes. It should show up in the PG catalog shortly.
