Purpose in Prayer, by Edward M. Bounds (1835 - 1913)
The name of E.M. Bounds is synonymous with prayer. His nine books on prayer, all but two published after his death, have long been classics, for ministerial students in particular, but have enriched all who have sought a deeper prayer life. “Why pray?” is probably the question most powerfully answered in this book. We know where we are headed from Bound's opening sentence, “The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil everywhere.” (Summary by Larry Wilson)

Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I usually am wrapped up with group projects, but really want to do some solo recordings. If I don't get them on the board, I won't get them started. I am in a place where I can devote a little extra recording time to something. Only one of E.M. Bound's books seem to have been done, so this seems like a good place to start.

I would love to DPL for you, Larry. I'll be glad to MC as well, if you don't mind waiting until this afternoon/evening to get set up. I won't be able to get your MW until then.

Thanks so much, Devorah!
I've got the MW populated.
I've put in word counts because it helps me visualize the project.

This won't be a fast paced project. I'll try to slip in something as I can.
After all, I do have a lot of work to do on Julian.

An overdue check-in to say this is still on my mind.

Life's been full with unexpected turns, so I really want to wait until we're more settled so I can produce more consistent recording. We'll be on the road again in less than two weeks.

Thanks for the check-in. It wasn't on my mind anymore, so I'm glad of the reminder!

Still on my to-do list.

I'm just waiting until we get settled in a more permanent place so that there will be more consistency in the recordings. We had hoped for this to happen sooner than this, but too many snags. Well, at least from our perspective, but the Lord's timing is always perfect!

Past due for a check in . . . .

These past few months have been and adventure. I'll spare you the details, but we finally closed on the house in New Hampshire and should be closing on a place here in southern California next month. I will at last have a dedicated studio space -- completely DYI, but I think I can achieve a satisfactory result. Then I will tackle some solo projects in earnest. Next week a short trip up to Oregon to visit my brother before he moves to the Kansas City area. We've experienced the Lord's guidance in adversity and at every turn!
