I just got hold of a 25 year old (!) laptop which allows me to read the text and edit using an old version of Audacity. I'm using my phone to record. I'll have to find a computer to upload files, since this ancient one can't handle that. But the point is, I'm working on it!

Again, thanks for your patience.

Hello dear. Posted chapter 2 but, being moi, I loaded the version with a 3 word repeat toward the end. I'm going to upload the corrected version tomorrow, but thought you might want to know. That I know. :?

Chapter 2 first because chapter one rather dour. Computer complications slowing me down so won't get corrected chapter 2 up immediately.

Thanks for patience, K

Hi TG,

Chapter 3, which is sections 4, 5, 6, in MW ready for PL.

Two notes for you:

First, they're replacing the roof on my apartment building, which involves much noise sometimes and some noise all the time. True, they do quit at 4:30, but that's when the neighbors bustle up and down halls and yell gossip and such. That is, my only ideal recording conditions for about 2 months WOULD be in the middle of the night, if it weren't for my new bowling-ball-dropping upstairs neighbor...

Result currently -- section 6, at about 16 minutes for about 90 seconds I hear a high pitched background noise that I can't get rid of. It's not utterly egregious, I think. What say you?

Second, this ms has 13 sections, one each per 12 chapters, and a 13th which contains the answers to the crossword that's key to this mystery. The clues are all given in section 5. But as to answers, section 13 of the ms the ms gives not a single word other than "Solution to Puzzle" and then all the answers. Obviously, that doesn't want to be tacked on to the end of this collection. I recorded it as a possible fourth section to Chapter 3, briefly noting these are the answers to the puzzle, presented in the order in which ... etc.

I don't like it. The answers SHOULD go in, even if it were not a legal matter. But they make no sense at all except if attached to their respective "clues". I THINK that I think there should be a fourth section to this chapter in which the clues are repeated exactly as written earlier in the chapter -- BUT with the answer to each clue stated right after the clue.

Which also seems not at all ideal.

Argh.

Hope you're well, dear -- best, K
