I see the merit on both sides here. I often have to bite my tongue on pronunciations elsewhere when I’m PLing. think the notes you’ve proposed for the summary might help, Inkell.

It's the best way I can think of to still preserve the author's intent with the text while trying to actively avoid spreading misinformation, arguably it's more than most because often you'll get different readers pronouncing the same name differently and they can't all be right. I'm open to suggestions if people have any better ideas though

In my opinion it is good to have character names pronounced in a common way across the collection. Besides this is just a dramatic version of Greek folk stories, as the author says.

Yes, by Librivox I should be good and personally I think a note at the end of the summary would be enough of a reminder so hopefully it is acceptable to Beeswaxcandle because Perseus and Atlas is ready to edit if he's still happy to be in it. I'm glad you think so, it was my hope if nothing else following the guide will make for more easy listening because it can be confusing and jarring when people start saying names differently. True, which is also why I am not too worried people will take the pronunciations as definitive, every retelling of Greek myths is often different depending on what this particular author decided to include or exclude or focus on or interpret

LOVE your voice acting! One tiny request, as Inkell is trying to keep the pronunciations true to the book's guide, would you be able to fine-tune the name Peneus at 1:24 "Daphne, daughter of Peneus the river god. . . "? I hear PEN-ne-us, and the guide has that name as Pen-KNEE-us.

I hope the level of editing I've done is okay. I also have a more 'raw' version that I can upload, but when I checked the Newbie guide it seemed to encourage doing as much of one's own editing as can be done, so I took a crack at it, haha. Also, I tried my best to check in with the IPA guide at the back of the book, but I am a bit rusty with IPA, lol, so please let me know if anything is amiss. I also ran this file through 'Checker'. I don't know how relevant that app is in the current Librivox meta, as it were, but it told me that the technical aspects of the file were all good.

Yes it is usually good to do as much editing as you can, if the BC does not want that they will usually say in the MW, though it does not hurt to hold onto a more 'raw' version just in case until it has gotten that PL OK. Thank you for remembering to follow the guide! Checker is definitely still useful and recommended in the current Librivox meta so it is good if you are using that and a good sign that the technical aspects are good. It is not necessary here because I have checked it myself but just for future reference you are supposed to put the file length in minutes and seconds when you upload as well, it's helpful to the prooflistener to know how long the file is and can be useful to the MC if there are issues so try to remember that for next time. Aside from that it's looking good, the DPL (AliceStein for this play) will let you know if there any corrections needed when they get to it
