Hey, I was wondering if you were solo-ing a book, could you get one of your siblings or friends to do some sound effects for the recording? To add some drama, or is that something we don't really do here?
Thanks,
-Iona
I was wondering...

Not in the Librivox version.IonaMuirgel2002 wrote: ↑March 7th, 2024, 5:34 pm Hey, I was wondering if you were solo-ing a book, could you get one of your siblings or friends to do some sound effects for the recording? To add some drama, or is that something we don't really do here?

But there is nothing stopping you from also making your own version outside of LibriVox and doing whatever you want with it; that's another good reason to keep backups of your readings especially the files in your DAW.

That is true, I guess I didn't think of that, I will have to remember not to delete my recordings after I am done with them.

"Digital Audio Workstation" = your software
I'm considering editing my next LibriVox project in stereo and having Audacity export the MP3 in mono. That seems like a lot of extra work, though, so maybe not.

What will that do to the recording?

It could go to Internet Archive.

I was talking about editing your project in stereo, then exporting in mono. I was just curious what that does.

Sorry for the delay. Recording in stereo would do nothing for LibriVox, but (if I did it, not likley) I would have a stereo version I could post somewhere else. It would still be in the public domain, cuz I believe in that.IonaMuirgel2002 wrote: ↑March 8th, 2024, 12:08 pm I was talking about editing your project in stereo, then exporting in mono.
