could I please claim Marguerite’s parts for chapters 5,6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 29 (the biggest speech in the book… a total of three words… whoooohooo “what is it? “ :o) , 30 and 31
Sure thing. That will take me a little while to update the database, and I'm in finals week right now, so I'll update the database after I'm done with my finals. If you don't see it done by Monday, give me a swift kick.

Is that every un-claimed Marguerite part?

Thanks for working on this project, and I look forward to hearing your work.

HI Jason, yes it is all the unclaimed Marguerites, unless I overlooked one. I am looking forward to this as I haven't worked on the dramatic works before, I have previous stuck to the straight forward chapters, though I have listened to a few dramatic works. I didn't check out all the parts, but a thought just struck me, I hope there is not a lot of french in it as I would have a poor pronouciation there!

I do love the Scarlet Pimpernel :o)

Cheerio,

Oh GRRRR... I thought Australia was in the same copyright rules as the US, but I just did a wiki search and it looks like we changed our rules here 3 years ago so it looks like we are in line with Europe, so I will have to very disappointedly give up those parts :o(

NO NO Wait ... you may growl at me but I just re-read the rules, Australia is strange for this copyright business but I think I have a handle on it now... I can read it because if the author died before 1955 the "plus 50 years" rule applies..... all because the change I see now... if the author died after 1995 the "Plus 70" rule applies.

*Martina looks relieved, looks forward to reading Marguerite's parts and yet feels very dumb for being all mixed up on a public forum!!! :-S

Martina,

No need to feel dumb, copyright rules are hard to understand. You think you have it hard, try to decipher some of the US rules. And they are regularly changing. We have some of the most convoluted rules here. I usually just stick to the basic rule number 1. If it was published before 1923, it is public domain. Over on some of the other groups I read (PGDP and PG) copyright confusion is discussed constantly.

Enjoy. Glad you can work on it. I just turned in all but one of my final projects and I can't work on the last one until I get my last piece of data tomorrow. I'll go ahead and update the database with your parts now.

Enjoy,

Jason

Martina,

You had chapter 20 on your list. It is already claimed, but I gave you the rest.

Thanks!

If they have not been claimed, may I read Louise's lines in Chapter 17?

I'm a newbie, but I'd like to try the narration for Chapter 27. (I know I already messaged you, but am posting like you recommended!) Thanks for your reply Jason.
