Hello, I am looking for an artist to make the graphics for a project of mine.
I am reading solo a book by Magnus Hirschfeld: Berlins drittes Geschlecht (Berlin's Third Gender") in German.

I would very much like to have Magnus Hirschfeld on the cover, there is a but, though:

Pictures of jewish and gay Magnus Hirschfeld where used during the "Third Reich" for antisemitic propaganda.

So a cover with him on it should have him look very distinguished. There are distinguished pictures of him, it should not be a problem. It just shouldn't be frivolous, as Hirschfeld decribes the LGBTQ+ subculture in his book in a thoughtful and earnest way.
Could I find someone here, who would like the job?

There is a lot of time, I only started, but I plan not to be too slow, because I have plans for more books.

Hello, Alice!

We don't assign people to make covers before the project is cataloged, unless the person making the cover is the soloist or BC (book coordinator). So we can't set this up ahead of time.

When your project is cataloged, please do come back and remind us of your request. If you see a picture published in 1928 or earlier, that you think would be a good one, you can post a link to it. I can't guarantee it will be used, but it's at least a good way to make your request known.
