On 47, I'm aware of and fine with:

the sun / that sun

On 51 I hear a few changes of prepositions, which don't change the meaning, so I'm fine with them.

The only slight variance I hear is in 54, third line from the end, "She reach'd the dark unfathom'd gulf of death" where I hear, "unfathomable." Probably fine, but thought I would mention it.

PS: I am just now recording a section in my project, One Hundred and One Hymn Stories, for the hymn "Just As I Am." I had not made the connection, this hymn by Charlotte Elliot, written after conversion during her long yeas as an invalid. Little did she know the impact her little poem would have on so many of us!

Yes, that's why I picked this book to read. I love the hymn and wanted to see what her other poetry was like.

Mixed bag here ... but she (and those around her, with the infant mortality rates what they were back then) suffered a lot so if these were helpful expressions, then all to God's glory!

I've just been rummaging, and I see that her sister published a volume of her poems after her death, followed by a volume of letters an unpublished poems. I may tackle the poems next ... I just feel like with such a well known hymn to her name, her other poetry should have an airing, and where better than LV?

I picked an early edition of Hours of Sorrow. She continued to review and add to it throughout her life, so it doesn't contain all the poems that are in the later editions. It's amazing how long she lived (into her 80s) considering how many times they despaired of her life, and she went here and there for a change of air to help improve her health.

It's been a tough week, but with some blessings, and looking forward to the Lord's Day!
One of the blessings was having these to listen to.
I especially enjoyed 57 and 62, which I listened to several times.

Tiny note for 55 - just a bit before 0:13, one of those annoying little clicks you might want to edit out.
But, marking all PL OK

I did have these downloaded, and should have posted a note. I've been pretty flat out and maxed out physically, but there have been many blessings along the way. I day off today, although the nor'easter missed us. Headed back to California tomorrow.
