I'm not over the COVID yet. I've never been very sick, just mild symptoms that don't seem to want to leave. It's been a good excuse to get many things done at home that got behind over the holidays.

There is one word you probably want to change at 3:04 in Chapter 55. I hear "reveled" instead of "gloried". As "reveled" is in the next sentence, it may just be an editing issue.

I'm glad you are not feeling too bad with your COVID - but I hope and pray it doesn't turn into long COVID!

Thanks for picking up the error - could you please say honestly whether the fix I have done is ok or whether I should re-record the whole sentence. I started with the correct passage - which I have pasted in - but I stopped part-way through the sentence because I was not using Mrs. Grantly's voice, and my eye must have moved on a couple of lines to pick up reveled instead of gloried! I have pasted in the original part of the sentence as best I could.

We discovered we had had a leaking radiator for some time in our sitting room and we are trying to get it dry, having borrowed a de-humidifier and a carpet shampooing vacuum cleaner. The latter picked up a lot of water at first, but has now stopped being effective; the de-humidifier is still working away gallantly!

The fix you did is just fine. I can't tell it was a fix at all. But I have to apologize. I missed something else on that recording. The beginning announces that it is chapter 45 instead of 55. Not sure how that one got by me the first time!

I got over COVID easily, although I tested positive for more than 2 weeks. It gave me a good excuse to stay home and get caught up on paperwork! My parents have had a harder time getting through it, especially my dad. I don't know how he gets any rest with that horrible cough.

So glad you were able to get to Switzerland for a skiing holiday!

With Ash Wednesday services tomorrow night, and a trip "east of the mountains" this weekend to celebrate my little brother's 60's birthday, it might be next week before I get to chapter 56.

I think chapter 55 is cursed. We still have work to do on it. The first mention of the chapter in the intro says 55, but the second mention still says 45. The end does say 55.

But everything else sounds great. Chapters 56, 57, and 58 are all PL OK.

My sister, brother-in-law, and I have been making the rounds of family this last couple of weeks. We celebrated my brother's 60th birthday with him, and took some side trips to see the new houses of our niece and her family, and our nephew and his family. It's fun to see them all grown up and in their own homes, with children of their own.

Just finished the last of my birthday celebrations. Lunch out at British Bites with girlfriends. We always celebrate our birthdays there. It's one of the few places you can get decent tea. Today's was a lovely lavender Earl Grey.
