[COMPLETE][Short Stories]The Black Cat Vol. 04 No. 01 October 1898 - kit
Just an update that I've recorded section 1 and plan to submit before the February 8 deadline. I had a couple back to back respiratory bugs in the last month or so.. I'm glad to have my regular voice back now!

wow this was a strong story, I loved the whole court procedural. And a strong woman in an unusual profession back in the days. Excellently narrated too, thanks, Shannon. Your voice did not sound ill anymore, so I'm glad you're feeling better.Corin wrote: ↑February 3rd, 2024, 9:34 pmHere's section 1:

Only one small cut to make:
> from 0:30 to 0:43: (p. 1) you can delete this footnote, no need to include it, as it's not part of the text
the rest was perfect
Sonia
Thanks Sonia, I am feeling better

I really enjoyed the legal plot with the twist at the end, as well as the story of the incident told by the mother.
Yes, I thought it was interesting to find a story from 1898 featuring a woman lawyer, and learned while working on it that the first female lawyer in the U.S. passed the bar in 1869. And, that the author Ellis Meredith was an organizer of the suffrage movement in Colorado, one of the first states to grant women the right to vote. It's been cool to get a little dose of history as I read for LV.

Fair warning - short and sad-ish. I hope you enjoy it anyway.

woah indeed but as soon as he stepped on that ship, I expected such a turn of events. Such tragedies really give me heartache. But it's a beautiful story and excellently narrated...so PL ok it is.JulieB3 wrote: ↑February 4th, 2024, 7:09 pmFair warning - short and sad-ish. I hope you enjoy it anyway.
