Well done. Like you selection of hymns. :D

Sections 10, 17, 57, and 58 are PL OK

Section 51 needs one change. The words "glory" and "coming" are reversed. Should be "title reversed. Should be "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory of the Coming of the Lord"

Thanks,

Please see section 60 here - https://librivox.org/uploads/brownrottger/hymnstories_060_price_128kb.mp3 - 2:09
Please see section 63 here - https://librivox.org/uploads/brownrottger/hymnstories_063_price_128kb.mp3 - 2:07

I thought I'd go ahead and just try two to start to make sure everything is good before I record the others. Please feel free to let me know if I should change anything.
I was curious how the footnote in section 63 should be treated - I'm happy to adjust anything if needed.

Thanks so much!

Section 60 is PL OK. However, your opening silence is a little long. Should be between 0.5 and 1 second. Something to watch for in future.

Section 63 does need the opening silence shortened. Please shorten it by at least 1 second so that it is between 0.5 and 1 second in length.

Otherwise the two sections are well done. :)

Thanks,

Quick question on footnotes... yes, no :?:
Apologies if this has already been covered someplace else.
Thank you!
In general, ignore footnotes unless they add something of substance to the story. If you have a question about a specific one, I'm glad to take a look.

Thank you. We'd be glad to have you make your LibriVox debut with us.
Before I can officially assign these, I need to know exactly how you would like to be listed in the LibriVox catalog. This can by a real name, pseudonym, or any nickname/handle you wish. This is how you will be credited for all of your LV work.

I've saved these sections for you, so you can begin to record. :)
Thank you Larry! You can list me as Shelly Weingart.
Where in Mass are you? I'm in Wareham :D
Excellent!
I've added you to the LibriVox catalog and assigned you these three sections. Just click on you name in the Magic Window to view your personal reader page. This is where you can track all of your LV projects of which I hope there will be many!

WELCOME TO LIBRIVOX

PS: A few years back we lived in Wareham for a while. Had a nice apt on the river - one of our favorite places. Still have friends there especially on our church. Then we had to move to the North Shore, than further up into New Hampshire where I am now to deal with a water damage in a house we're trying to sell. Long story. May drive down to Danvers on Sunday. Bounced around different places in Mass over the years.

Hi all,

Thank you very much for your encouragement!
I have re-recorded Sections 1-4 because I recorded it first during the day not at night when it's usually quieter. I do have to upgrade my recording room and mic. Also, do you know how to find background noise level in audacity? And I did try out the Greek word in section 3 and you're right -- my friends will be impressed, and I'll give you the credit!

Hello all, section 9 is ready for PL. This project was much more fun than I originally thought. I had a blast with these short works.

Thank you so much! I've re-uploaded the files using the same file structure (so the links would be the same, right?). I've shortened the opening silence on both. Please let me know if I need to make any additional changes.

Go right out and impress your friends. :)

There is still a fair bit of background noise but the recordings do not fail Checker, just get a warning. All are PL OK.
Here is a page on noise reduction in Audacity.

You can use Checker to see what your noise level is.

Let me know if you need more information.

Well read. Both sections are PL OK.

One comment. Please watch your ending silence. It should be about 5 seconds and section 8 falls a bit short of that.

Thanks,

This is great! Since these are new recordings, I've updated the MW and marked them Ready for PL.
I downloaded Section three so I could listen to the Greek, and I think you did just fine.

As far as background noise is concerned, this sounds much better. You can set Checker to measure background noise. Just go the the validation tab and check this box for it. And, keep it on Gentle, or it will flag just about everything. I don't use this feature, though. I use my ears. That's what real life listeners use, right? I do have a good pair of headphones so I think I hear noticeable background noise if it's there.

Personally, I run noise reduction on all of my recordings. It is a two-step process, so I usually leave about five second or so at the beginning that I use as my "noise profile." And then trim that beginning down, of course. This is just part of my personal routine.

As for as what I heard from the part of the recording I listened to, you have nothing to worry about. It sounded like a clean recording to my ears!

M will be along to give you new reports on these.

It has been a while since I have done any recording for LibriVox, so please let me know if there's anything I should change or could do better next time. Here are sections 54, 55, and 56 for PL. Thanks!
