I would be interested in reading this. If there's a way to get a consolidation of all of the etexts, that would help. Thanks!

That first link doesn't work for me, but one of the "horrid" novels has just been launched! You can help read "Romance of the Forest" if you like - this is the one Northanger Abbey is based on, and it is mentioned in "Emma" as well. If you are interested, click on the pink link in my signature file and go claim a chapter!

I actually recently read Northanger Abbey and decided to poke around and see how many of these I can find now. 5 out of 7 of the specific list of horrid novels seem to be available:
Castle of Wolfenbach by Eliza Parsons [99,435 word count]

The Necromancer, or Tale of the Black Forest by Karl Friedrich Kahlert [74,268 word count]
**Faded Page isn't always considered a trusted source, but in this particular instance, they do actually list the specific publication date of the edition they transcribed.

Horrid Mysteries by Carl Grosse [186,255 word count]

Vol. IV: https://archive.org/details/bim_eighteenth-century_clermont-a-tale-in-fou_roche-regina-maria_1798_4

The Mysterious Warning by Eliza Parsons [225,964 word count]
Vol. I: https://archive.org/details/bim_eighteenth-century_the-mysterious-warning-_parsons-mrs-eliza_1796_1
Vol. II: https://archive.org/details/bim_eighteenth-century_the-mysterious-warning-_parsons-mrs-eliza_1796_2
Vol. III: https://archive.org/details/bim_eighteenth-century_the-mysterious-warning-_parsons-mrs-eliza_1796_3
Vol. IV: https://archive.org/details/bim_eighteenth-century_the-mysterious-warning-_parsons-mrs-eliza_1796_4

I still can't find any English version of The Midnight Bell by Francis Lathom or an acceptable version of Orphan of the Rhine by Eleanor Sleath.
