had to google this guy  yes, I can see you in that role. Do your best !

Sonia
Thank you!

Sadly, Michael Shayne never attained the status of Charlie Chan or Sherlock Holmes in detective fiction so I am not surprised you had to look him up!

thanks, Chris, for the first story of the 4th volume 8-) interesting game this Brown is playing here. I wonder how it will turn out. I would like to hear the end of the story ;), because:

> at 12:12: (p. 35) for some reason you forgot to record the last page of the story :hmm:

And while you're at it, just one further recommendation:

> at 1:44: (p. 29) between "which inhere" and "in those social laws" - the long break is a bit odd here, since the words in this sentence belong together

Other than that, a very entertaining listen, thanks.

And wishing you a good transition into the new year. :)

I thought it ended abruptly! I'm looking forward to seeing how the story ends, too.

awww somehow heartwarming, the hardened gambler does have a soft spot. Let's hope this banker was worth it.

The story now is PL ok, thank you :)

not at all what I expected  the detective is a real crow, how inventive. A great plot and perfectly narrated. Sorry you couldn't act out your film noir performance for this one though.

Absolutely PL ok, thank you Greg :)

Thank you! I agree, it would have been fun to read this as if it were a one-act play!

and it was a treat to listen to. A bit of the supernatural at the end, when they were dying at the same time

I have a few small edits to note:

> at 0:30: "October 1898" – you forgot to say the month
> at 16:29: (p. 41) "ah what a creation is a human being with a heart" – you say "creature"
> at 17:13: (p. 41) "her old zealotry came back to her" – you say "his"
> at the end: you have 22 seconds of silence, please reduce to the standard 5

thank you so much, Linda. Lovely narration.
