Well, I'm all caught up (except for a trip I need to make tomorrow to Lubbock). If I could have sections 14 & 15 I could look forward to a wonderful weekend of recording.

I would like to take section 16 please. I am new to librivox, but have done voice recording in the past and look forward to hopefully having a long term relationship with the site.

Welcome, Craig! Chapter 16 is all yours. You can check out the Librivox wiki here: http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/ It should answer any questions about how we do things around here. Just post here or PM me if you need anything else. When you submit your recording, please let me know how you'd like to be credited in the catalog (real name? alias? any personal URL you'd like us to link to?). Have fun here! :)

Hi

I've never done anything like this before but I'd really like to have a go at chapter 17 if that's OK.

This is the first book I have been involved with. It is very exciting to see this system in progress. It seems to have started off kinda slow, but it is rapidly building up steam and moving forward...I suppose that is normal. It is GREAT to see so many new people here who will be recording! Anyway, I have just completed Chapter 14. It is 14:50 in length. Here is the link:

Thanks, Gayland! Either a cyber-fairy has posted it in the MW, or else Paul has seen it and will be PL'ing it as soon as he is able.

:D Guilty...and I've PM'd Gayland about a very slight technical problem on Chapter 13 to see if he wants to try to fix it or leave as is.

EDIT: ...and Gayland PM'd back and 13's  OK to catalog! (and has been marked as such). Onward to 14!

Chapter 1: No problems, OK to ccatalog and marked as such in MW.

Chapter 2: at 1:41, repeated "In order to get rid of these dangerous islands we stood south and west, and at length found ourselves in south latitude 65°, longitude 60° east." As I understand that the reader is apparently no longer with us (for the time being, anyway), I removed the first occurrence, as the second one sounded better. Also added 3 seconds of silence at end, as the recording only had two seconds.

Would appreciate someone else spot-checking Chapter 2, please. Thanks
Paul

If I may, allow me to paraphrase Oliver Twist:

Please ma'am...may I please have some more...

Possibly Sections 18 & 19?
