no - you could call it anything but it does need to be easily identified. Calling it cover.zip would lead to much confusion

The only fault was the .jpg.jpg and .pdf.pdf file endings but I noticed and fixed them . Some of the software won't work if they meet them - computers are dumb sometimes - I suspect they look for the dot and then try to work out what the file is and they can't find a match for .jpg.jpg
