Glad that you have done the test, it's good to get the tech bits sorted out first but you need to use the LV uploader so prospective checkers can access the file .

Welcome!
As Anne mentioned, we do need you to use the uploader, since that is how you submit files for actual recordings.
In the meantime, I downloaded your file to check. Are you using Audacity? I'll give instructions assuming that you are.
- Your volume is too low. Visually, you should aim for your wave forms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this:
Make sure the microphone slider in the Audacity window is all the way up. Also, have you increased your input volume in Windows yet? Here's a link to instructions: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Audacity_1-2-3#Volume
By numbers, it needs to be about 5 dB louder.
- Bit rate is variable; it needs to be 128 constant. This is set when you export to MP3. When you go to export, on the screen where you enter the file name for the MP3, change the Bit Rate mode to Constant, and the quality should be 128 kbps. You should only have to set it once; it'll remember the setting until you change it again.
Try making these adjustments, then post another test. Post in this same thread when it's ready.

Your voice is pleasant and varied. Watch out for a tendency to read a bit too fast (leads to stumbling over words).
There is one technical change required to your test: LibriVox requires audio that is 128kbps constant bit rate. Your recording is 184kbps variable bit rate.
Please re-export your MP3 from Audacity, and check Bit Rate Mode - Constant, then select 128kb from the pull-down menu. I'll come back to check it.
Thanks,
Winnifred

My apologies; I just noticed that this user had posted earlier tests in an older thread. Below is my most recent exchange, just to pull these all together. Tricia, perhaps you want to respond when they next post, as you started this one. Thanks.Winnifred wrote: ↑October 21st, 2023, 3:44 pmHi Buckinghamrabbit, buckinghamrabbit wrote: ↑October 21st, 2023, 11:22 am https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/1_min_test_-_buckinghamrabbit.mp3

I notice you posted your test earlier in a different thread, and were given a response there. Please go back to that thread for future responses instead of this one. We try to keep all tests from the same reader in one thread.buckinghamrabbit wrote: ↑October 21st, 2023, 11:22 am https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/1_min_test_-_buckinghamrabbit.mp3
