ah Rimbaud, I love his poetry a nice choice, thank you. And I didn't know you also speak French. I would be tempted to recruit you for our mini play in La Lecture. For your poem, nicely recited, only a few instances where the pronunciation is a bit off and hard to understand:

> at 0:13: "E blanc" - I hear "OU blanc"
> at 0:15: "U vert" - also here "OU" instead of French "U"
> at 0:48: "les ivresses pénitentes" - you say "abresses"
> at 1:01: "aux grands fronts" - you say "rond", I don't hear the initial 'g'
> the background noise is quite distracting here, I would definitely recommend a round of noise cleaning, or maybe you sent the unedited version by mistake ?

Hi, I hope you had a good vacation.

I think we discussed French somewhere back in the day, I am learning it, I dont really know it much.

The play sounds nice, this is my first french venture, maybe I will be doing more in the future from this inception. However, currently I am preping for ielts which is on 10th november, the test designed in such a tricky way, that it's destined to make you feel miserable regardless of your level of English and I have been recorging 4 essays for Harvard classics series, where you also contributed, they are some of the largest recording I ever did and I learned new things with this stretch, but I am not finished with that project, so I cant get into newer projects now. Maybe after 10th November, will see.


Regarding the correction, I always suffered with the "Grand" sound. I tried my best, I dont think I can make it any better. If it doesnt work. I will have to put down recording french

hm I still don't hear the 'g'. In fact it's the same sound (/gr/) than in English "grand", "great, "green", "groceries"...do you have trouble with that as well ?

Nevertheless, I think we can accept it for the collection, it's only a small thing. The other edits were well done. So: PL ok.

Only the background noise was still enormous. I cleaned it up myself this time and reuploaded, nnow it sounds better. What exactly are you doing to noise clean ? Are you using Audacity ?

And as for IELTS: good luck. I agree, those tests are mega tricky, and would challenge even native speakers to pass with good marks.

Wow! I just realized something. I pronounce English "grand" fine. But I just realize during French pronunciation I use the same tongue position for both g and r haha but in English g sound is pronounced with slight outer part from the throat while the r sound is near to the uvula. I will practice this, thanks.

Oh heck, I actually forgot to do a hiss reduction filter. I use Adobe Audition. Sorry for the trouble.

definitely, if you can say an English "gr" you should also be able to say the French "gr", for all intents and purposes it's the same.

Geez! How many languages do you know?

well Luxembourgish is my mother-tongue, so that one is not a feat for me I would call myself fluent in German, English and French and still remember enough of my Italian studies to be able to participate in projects...some other languages are negotiable, I can PL them, but I wouldn't really consider myself good enough to record in those languages.

I love language learning. Currently busy with Russian grammar.
