My 1 minute test recording [OK]
Greetings Jonny
I reviewed your test sample, and while it sounds good there are some technical changes needed. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kbps constant bit rate, 44.1kHz sample rate, mono, and between 86db and 92db, preferably 89-90. Your test audio is 192kbps, and the volume right at the maximum at 92db.
Adjust the volume level before exporting by going to Effects>Amplify and enter an amount, or Effects>Loudness Normalization, choose RMS and enter -23db (Checker uses a different scale - this is the same as +89db).
When exporting your MP3 from Audacity, be sure to check Bit Rate Mode - Constant, then select 128kb from the pull-down menu, and check Force Export to Mono.
You can pre-check your audio yourself by downloading the free Checker app: https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/
Passed with Warnings is a fail with regard to volume.
Please make a new test recording and post it in a reply to this message. I will come back and review it for you.

Thanks so much for your feedback! Per your advice, I have made sure to export at 128 kb.
I do have an ACX checker plus an ACX Macro on Audacity with the presets built-in and wanted to send you a screenshot of the ACX check but my upload was not accepted - guess this part of the forum is for the tests only
The readout for the above test on ACX check is a pass:
Peak level: -3.84 db
RMS level: -20.46 db
Noise Floor: - 70.32 db
Thanks for your help!

Ok, JonnyO, you are good to go.
One note: RMS at -20.46 still puts your volume at the high end of the range. I'd still shoot for -23.
ACX Check is fine, except for the 192kbps.
No need for a new test.
Happy narrating!
