PL Notes for Mrs Gilbey. Thank you for your sections. There are just a couple of edits to make please.

For Act 1
At the beginning of the file could you please say

'Mrs Gilbey read by (your name)

For both Act 1 and Act 3 please could you do the following

The volume is 95dB, which is too high. We aim for between 86 - 92dB, but ideally we would like it to be at 89 dB.
In Audacity you will also find the option to amplify under 'effects'.
How to amplify in Audacity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_z607awyLw
If you like, you can use the checker tool to verify volume and other settings https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/

It would be helpful to remove some of the background noise.
To do this in Audacity.

Step 1 - Select a piece of background noise
Select a piece of background noise (no speech, breaths or other noises) in your audio.
In Menu click: Effect > Noise Reduction... A dialog will pop up.
Click "Get Noise Profile" The dialog box will close instantly.

Step 2 - Noise Reduction
Press CTRL-A / Command-A to select your complete recording.
In Menu click: Effect > Noise Reduction... again. Note: don't select "Repeat Noise Reduction" -- that instantly applies the default settings; you want to adjust the settings and preview the results before you apply the noise filters.
Set Noise Reduction (dB) to 12
Set sensitivity to 6.00
Set frequency smoothing bands to 3
Choose Noise: Reduce
Click ok

Also adding in a plug in called replay gain will help you to check your volume in Audacity. The link for the video on how to do this is below.

Please could you carry out the edits then upload the file using the same file name and post in this thread. If you need any more help please just ask. Thanks
Michele

Here's Mr Robin Gilbey. I'm fairly new at this and wasn't sure how to handle the bracketed inserts when they occur in the middle of lines. I ended up leaving a space of about one second for each. Let me know if I should trim down those pauses or make any other edits.

I had so much fun doing this, by the way :D

Thank you for your sections. For the bracketed inserts we say leave 3 to 4 seconds of silence. Please don't worry at this stage as I am editing the final files together it is not a problem. I will PL your parts and let you know if there are any edits needed. Thank you
