DPL wanted! :D

This is a short book, some 1:30 total. I'm already finished recording the whole thing, just need to edit the final chapter, which is the longest too.
I'll give a better summary once my brain is more awake.

Section 9 PL OK.

I'm enjoying this greatly. The ideas expressed are, of course, as relevant today as they were when written, and will be in the future as long as humanity survives. I find myself ascribing many contemporary situations in the world to his words as I listen.

I'm so glad you enjoy his writings, so much more to do... ;-)

Section 11 has arrived as well.
There is this short part towards the end of section 11:
The service of others is the practical form of duty; and endurance in the service of others, the highest form of happiness. It is pleasure, peace, security, and desert.
And I'm not sure wrt pronunciation if it's desert as in "no water, lots of sand" (that's how I did it) or a misprint for "sweets" or something altogether different. If you have insights here, I'd be much obliged.
Cheers, Ava.

I'd go with a misprint of "dessert".

Most people don't get happiness, pleasure and peace, let alone security from the feeling of being in a desert. But the vast majority do enjoy their desserts!

Also, from dictionary definitions:
desert (noun, the sand kind) means an uncultivated region without inhabitants; wilderness. That doesn't apply to being able to help people if they aren't around! :P
desert (verb, pronounced like the sweet) means to leave someone or something without help or in a difficult situation. Which definitely does NOT apply to secularism.

So delicious dessert, a feeling of satisfaction after a job well done, is my take on it.

PL notes for Section 10:
8:27 I hear mortality, text states morality. I believe it changes the meaning.

9:09 I hear weapons (plural), text states weapon (singular). I don't believe it makes a significant difference but if you're editing anyway you might want to know.

16:36 The number 4 is missing after stating the numbers for 1, 2, and 3.

And now I come to pronunciation. I know it is Librivox policy to not comment on pronunciation and I put this here in case the context is misunderstood by listeners. (And I thought you might like to know and make the decision.)

At 4 places is the word 'differ' (accent on the first syllable).
16:20
16:33
16:52
19:49
I hear 'defer' (accent on the second syllable).

The two words have opposing definitions.
Differ: to be of unlike or opposite opinion
Defer: defer to (someone) : to allow (someone else) to decide or choose

( I'm laughing at myself here because in the first draft of this message, after each notation I stated "I only mention this because ....reason here". I do have a tendency to over-explain and repeat myself. But you know I'm only mentioning all of this because it's my job and the final decision is yours.)

Thank you, I'll have a look at this in the next few days.

Umm.. in the future, it would really help me if you could give a bit more context to your PL notes - a snippet of the sentence rather than a single word. Makes it easier to look things up in the text without having to listen to the file again. ;-)
