Hello LibriVox community!
Over the past few years I have slowly stopped consuming all other forms of media and find myself reading or listening to books on tape 24/7. An aspiring polymath and mystic, I am in the process of establishing a non-profit organization who aim, albeit a bit lofty, is to restore the collective conscious of humanity through education and community. I have found in my own path that there isn't much new thought to be had but rather, much new thought to be restored from yesterday. When I discovered LibriVox, I was overjoyed with the access it provided but was a little disappointed with the quality of some of the recordings of some of the most significant works of classic literature and antiquity. I decided that I wanted to do my part to contribute to the cause, especially since my reading list consists of wide variety, quite eclectic and aged to say the least. Thank you to everyone that has come before me and contributed to this great corpus and I hope to form new bonds with inquiring minds here in the near future!
Cheers,
Bacchus
P.S. Any direction or pointers from the veterans of this forum is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I’m so glad that you’re enjoying the LibriVox audiobooks!
As your first step in volunteering, I recommend you to record and upload 1-Minute Test. This is NOT an audition, but a way to check to make sure all your technical settings are correct, your volume loud enough, etc.
After your test has been approved, feel free to check out the Readers Wanted: Books and Short Works thread. There are many collaborative projects here that need readers, and the genres are very broad, too!
Best wishes,
