Everything an amateur theatre company needs to know, at least circa 1922. Includes chapters on choosing the right play, finding the right cast, the back stage roles that need to be filled (from director to costumier) and other essential bits of advice from a century ago. There are also specific examples of staging and explanations of common theatre terms. Also included: a list of suggested plays, including "contemporary" writers like Oscar Wilde, Arthur Wing Pinero, G.B. Shaw, and William Gillette.
