Can the software:

- Record at 44100 Hz sample rate and mono?
- Edit what you have recorded (cut out mistakes, and re-record a line or two and replace it in the original recording)?
- Perform noise reduction and amplification if needed?
- Export to 128 kbps constant bit rate MP3?
- Come back to the recording to make edits as needed?

If it can do all of this, then the software you use is up to you. :)

The phone is a Samsung A025V Smartphone. The Record Pad DAW app will record with all the correct parameters but not edit the file. The Wave Pad will edit the file but I can't find how to set the required parameters.

I think what I'll end up doing is recording on one and editing with the other.

So, record in Wave Pad and edit/export in Record Pad? That might work.

Mark might swing by with other recommendations for a Samsung, but if not, that might work. :)

I can see recording on a phone if you don't already have a microphone you really like - you can move yourself to some quiet part of your household to record without needing to transport a bunch of parts. Perhaps using a phone to record and a tablet to display the text.

But I can't see myself editing on a tablet: I really want a largish screen, a mouse ... and a keyboard for typed shortcuts.

I have three audio sources. The built-in mic in the phone, a USB mic with adapter cable and a headset. The big problem is I don't have a computer. That's why I'm experimenting with the phone for now.

Okay, so again, what kind is it? Android? iPhone? Something else? It's really hard to help without knowing what you're using.

We don't do tests on Google docs. You must use the LibriVox Uploader and post the link in a message in viewforum.php?f=21

All the instructions are at the top of that forum.

And sorry, I'm only versed on iPhone so I can't offer any advice on Android recording.

Is TwistedWave available on Android yet? I have used it on an iPhone and iPad (though not for LV recordings) and it works very well, easy and nicely featured. I have used Auria for making LV recordings on an iPad and it is very powerful though sometimes glitchy. It isn't free though and don't know if available on Android

Not yet. I believe the Windows version is still in beta. I don't know if there are plans for an Android version to follow.

All l need now is a computer and I'll be able to send in a one minute test file. I'm thinking about a GEEKOM IT11mini.
