I want to suggest a book: Rimas y Leyendas de Gustavo A. Becker
[Merged two threads with the same suggestion - TriciaG 1/2013]
[SPANISH] Rimas y Leyendas de Gustavo A. Becker
Can you tell us a bit more about it, zamorano..?
I found a version with English notes at Project Gutenberg ... I can see there are other versions of the text online too, but I'm not so sure if they are public domain or if they're claiming some kind of copyright (I don't speak Spanish.) Would the Gutenberg text be okay to read from, or do you know another good online source..?

There's honestly no such thing as a stupid question -- but I'm afraid I can't rule out giving a stupid answer : : To Posterity and Beyond!
Hi, I'm a newbie here and just browsing to see what's it all about.
I have just checked that Gustavo Adolfo Becquer appears in the free domain online catalogue of Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes http://www.cervantesvirtual.com/FichaObra.html?Ref=20844
so I guess it's OK - besides I have downloaded some of his Rimas very well read by a Spanish teacher at http://scratchblog.wordpress.com/audiolibros/ aimed at learners of Spanish I guess.
I love Becquer and I'd be glad to cooperate if the project gets the green light and if you don't mind my Catalan accent when reading...
BTW- Becquer (Seville, 1836-1870) is one of the most important Romantic poets in Spain, as well as a great narrator and journalist. For a full insight into his work you can have a look at the wiki entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustavo_Adolfo_B%C3%A9cquer which I think is accurate enough.

I can volunteer if you decide to go ahead with this project.

I'd love to help out with this one too. Bécquer is one of the best Spanish poets whose works are in the public domain.

Hello, everyone:
I'd like to propose this classical book many of us read when we were just kids or pre-teenagers.
Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer is one the most well-known writers and poets in the nineteenth century (in Spanish literature, of course).
Here is his file at wikipedia (in Spanish):
http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustavo_Adolfo_B%C3%A9cquer
I am intented to read the entire book.
Here is a sample of the first chapter of the first leyenda:

Best wishes,
Ignacio.

If this is something you'd like to do as a solo project, you can just start a new project thread in Going Solo and get started!

Hola, gypsygirl:
Ignacio.

Hi everybody,
I would like to contribute to the reading of "Rimas y Leyendas" by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, in Spanish, if still someone is launching it.
We are already more than 7 volunteers into it! I really hope that someone wants to be the BC. I am new in Librivox and definitely can't do that yet!
Thanks!
Elena
