This might be hard to track down, but I'm trying to recall a phrase i read somewhere, possibly in the histories of Herodotus or the 12 caesars, but I just cant remember exactly where.
It was something about an event in the Roman senate to collect history books pertaining to the history of Rome. Since the skill applied to record keeping and the problem of local myths taking over recollections, there was some kind of effort to encourage citizens to donate their records to the government.
I really dont know much about this nor exactly where to narrow down the search, but if anyone may by chance recall something like this, or are planning to listen to these texts in the future, i would greatly appreciate any advice
