Bit of a challenge with some of the words.
Hope the result is okay.

I would like to do sections 8, 12, and 13, or any three sections that haven't already been assigned. Turn around time will be within 7-10 days.
Thanks! :)

Oh, thank you!
These project threads are a maze to untangle.
Sorry to lag so far behind on the Indiana Narratives -- just not good timing for me.
But, when it is put together, I think it will be a great volume!

That's fine. Thank you!
You might wait until you get your firs PL report just to make sure there aren't any major issues. But proceed as you feel confident. Glad to have you. :)

You did a nice job with your reading of the text. There are several changes needed on the recording, mostly to meet the LibriVox technical requirements.

Please reduce the noise level. This can be done by using Noise Reduction in Audacity or a similar noise reduction feature in other applications.

Sampling rate should be 44.1 kHz (44,100 Hz)
Should be Mono not stereo
(change these in audio setting in Audacity)

delete over 5 seconds of silence at the start so there is between 0.5 and 1 second of silence

0:17 Please insert ""Slave Narratives: a Folk History of Slavery in the United States From
Interviews with Former Slaves, Volume 12, Ohio Narratives, by Various" before reading "The Story of MRS. MELISSA (LOWE) BARDEN,
Youngstown, Ohio."

Thanks,

You did a very nice job with your recording. I just have one addition to make this recording PL OK.

0:48 insert "PHOEBE BOST" after "by various"

You did a good job with your recording. However, the standard LibriVox beginning and ending information is missing.

Please insert the following before "Ben Brown":
"Section 5 of Slave Narratives: a Folk History of Slavery in the United States From Interviews with Former Slaves, Volume 12, Ohio Narratives. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org." [move the "read by...2023" from its current location to here.] "Slave Narratives: a Folk History of Slavery in the United States From Interviews with Former Slaves, Volume 12, Ohio Narratives, by Various."

At 2:30 I hear "put us in stones" should read "put on stones"

Please insert the following before the final 5 seconds of the recording"
"End of section 5."

One additional comment. There was a bit of stuttering/repeated word in the recording. Ordinarily, I would have these corrected, but they fit in so well with the recording that I think they should be left as is. (Larry - if you want something different let me know.)

Thanks,

Should I keep the information that’s currently at the beginning?

You can keep what you have, just move it around a little so that things are in the correct order.

Section 1 is ready - 11:41
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/slavenarrativesvol12_01_various_128kb.mp3

Section 17 is ready - 8:59
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/slavenarrativesvol12_17_various_128kb.mp3

**Section 17 was loaded twice. I cleared the first file after fixing an error missed on the first sweep. The notes said it would be renamed but it still needs to be removed from the server. The original name was 'slavenarrativesvol12_17_various_128kb.mp3'

Thanks!

I didn't get your response until I had already made the corrections. Let me know if this version works. It's uploaded.
