Hi Stacey -
This is mostly a fine reading. I have just two notes that need correction:

--at 0:00
---The recording needs at least ½ to 1 second pause before starting; this would not require re-recording. You could just edit in the pause.
--at 10:09
---You missed the final paragraph which appears below the illustration, as follows:
“Johnnie Jones was sure the caterpillar heard what he said, because it went to sleep just as it was told. All winter long the little boy watched it, and one day, in the early spring, really saw it come out a gorgeous butterfly. When it spread its bright wings and flew away, I wonder which was happier, the butterfly or Johnnie Jones.”

Aside from those two items, this is very good!

Hi Betsy,

I've added the paragraph. I could only get the beginning pause to start at .48 otherwise it jumped to .01 seconds. The new time is 10:37.

I know I’m at my deadline for my second chapter. I asked my husband for help buying a microphone since I wasn’t happy with the quality of my built-in laptop setup and he never got around to showing me specific product options, so I guess I’m on my own. I’ll record it this afternoon on the built-in microphone and get it to you by Saturday, and find myself a microphone for the next thing I sign up for. I tried to see if LibriVox recommended anything, but the page seemed outdated.

Did you need some more time? Would two weeks help? Thanks.

Hi Chuck - Nice reading! I have just a few comments:

--2:42
Repeated word “Tomorrow” There is also a long-ish pause before the word. Could be cut out, but not critical.
--5:52
Repeated “When he reached the first corner”
--10:57
Background noise of something turning; maybe paper or other desk item. Not a big problem, but perhaps be a bit more careful at the ending in future recordings.

Yes. I ordered a microphone a couple days ago and it should be here soon. I’ll have to figure out how to use it and do another 1-minute test, then I will get my chapter done as soon as I can.
