silverquill says it would be okay to go ahead and post these.
He's checked all the technical stuff.

This was a lot of fun!

Hi, just thought I should let you know the BC (the person running this play) said they'd be out of town for awhile so don't be worried about the lack of response

Anyway I decided to wait on claiming or recording anything else until I heard from you but I'm already in for the 1st Monk so here he is:

As far as reading multiple roles in the same part, I think it would depend on which roles you are considering. You're right that many of the roles only have one or two lines, but I can't think of a case off the top of my head where a character is called by different names in this script. :hmm: If there are other specific questions you have, I'll be happy to answer them. But you will probably have to wait awhile for my answer, as I'm leaving town first thing in the morning and will not have much internet access while I'm gone.
In the first scene with the gentlemen, they're called 2_nd_ and 3_rd_ but in the second scene with them they're called 2nd G and 3rd G, I found the second first and was really confused why my ctrl+F was finding nothing when I know they had to be in al least two scenes. You also only know the organ-boy has the German poem from stage directions as it's listed as song not boy like his other two lines, similarly you only know the mob and women from context of stage directions, like the Monk is credited 1st Monk but the mob is 1st and the women is 1st W and the gentleman I already mentioned. It's not the end of the world or anything, some of these old scripts are much worse for formatting, but if I've accidentally missed any lines it wouldn't surprise me is all.

As for the roles I'm considering I thought I would take one from each part but the only way to be in the 3rd is to be a gentleman who also appear in part 4 which could lock me out of the other part 4 roles, I was interested in Jew (I think the boy has too much German for me) as I don't see why I couldn't make it a female Jew to differentiate from the gentleman or I thought I could take one of the women since it's just one line, depends how rigid you are about this. For act 2 I'm considering Waggoner or 1st servant and one of the mob (mob 3 in particular as he has the shortest single line so least likely to clash with a second role in the same act and the joint line will be overlapped I'd assume so that kind of disguises that anyway) Waggoner seems the most fun lines of the lot but I think it's supposed to be a guy so I could differentiate more with making a female servant (and I know there is Woman in that act but I think the servant has more interesting lines than the woman).

If you'd like (and I wouldn't mind doing this because these are quite small parts) I could just record all the ones I'm considering and you can listen and make up your own mind on what you want to include and what you want to discard
Ok, I hadn't noted those little discrepancies. It definitely doesn't jump out at you when you're just reading through it the way that it does if you're skimming or especially using Ctrl-F! Thanks for pointing that out!

I think any of the Part 2 roles would work very well. I've just double checked on the division of part 4. I decided to split it after scene 13 (I originally had said 14, but I think 13 is a better break), which means that the three women only appear in the second section of Part 4, as does the Jew. Gentleman 3 appears in both parts, Gentleman 2 only in the first part. I do think, on reflection, that if you wanted to do one of the women as well as someone else in that second section of Part 4, that would be fine. After all, as you say, they only have one line each, and I don't think anyone would be confused by it.

Both PL ok, well done! I'm glad you enjoyed this. I hope silverquill also warned you of the addictive properties that volunteering here has been shown to have. I hope to hear you again in a larger role one day. Thanks for pitching in!

Yeah the discrepancies are easily missed, at least now you know if anyone has trouble finding their lines

Alright in that case I'll claim the Waggoner, Jew and 1st Woman, I was going to take Gentleman 3 as I like his lines more but I can take 2 to avoid overlapping in part 4 if you think it'll be less confusing, knock out as many of these minor roles as I can for you to help this along. Would you like me to do one of the mob as well? Each only has one line plus an all line so I can't see it being very confusing, at worst the Waggoner just seems like part of the mob which I don't think is the end of the world (if yes put me down for Mob 3, he has the shortest individual mob line)

Great, that works for me. And yes, I think that being a part of the mob would work well. For that matter, I think almost anyone could be a part of the mob... Maybe not Nembroni. He's dead. But maybe he has a brother to avenge him? And probably not Stephen. He's too dignified for such a proceeding.

Ok, all of the narration is ready for PL! If Elijah does not get to it before then (or does not want to PL just narration), I will just assume it is PL ok and begin editing as parts are completed. And in fact, I just realized that I already have all roles for Part 1 and I can get started on that one already!

Well, time to get Lily's parts in.

We worked on these, but there are still some rough places, so please feel free to ask for a redo on anything. She's a real trooper, so is willing to work some more if needed. There are a lot more Lily lines than I thought at first.

Oh, what a sweet voice! :9: She did a wonderful job! Parts 3 and 5 are PL ok as is. I have a couple of notes for Part 4. Hopefully they are quick fixes. And yes, Lily is quite the precocious four-year-old. She has lots to say!

Part 4:
1:01 This is a minor change. I wouldn't have mentioned it if not for the other correction needed in this act. Here, MacDonald has given Lily a charming little childish way of speaking: "What is a poetry?" Adalyn has very sensibly fixed the grammar here, but it is a sweet bit of childishness that we might want to keep.
1:13 This change is more significant. The line is "Do let me see a poetry." Adalyn has slipped in an accidental "not": "Do not let me see a poetry."

Great work, both of you!

I notice you didn't put me down for a gentleman, did you forget or did you not want me to do it? I wasn't sure so I left it but here are the other four-
