The Wishing Horse of Oz, by Ruth Plumly Thompson (1891 - 1976)

This project can now be found in our catalog at https://librivox.org/the-wishing-horse-of-oz-version-2-by-ruth-plumly-thompson/
The magical kingdom of Oz is happily doing all the wonderful things it does in peace and happiness, not knowing that a far off evil and grasping king with the name of Skamperoo, is planning to make all of them his subjects and slaves by the use of a magic set of emeralds. And a horse of course. A horse that he got by magic but a horse with a mind of its own. What mischief will come to the sweet inhabitants of Oz? (Summary by phil chenevert )

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Chapter 4 is PL OK.

Chapter 5 has one repeat in it:

5:11 "circus in" is repeated in "outdoor circus in the afternoon"

Looking forward to finding out what happens next with the wicked merchant and his charming king. :)

Chapters 11 and 12 are PL OK.

Not such a bad witch after all. :)
I wonder whether Dorothy and the pig will turn black again if they return to the forest.

I read a lot of Oz books when growing up but I don't think I ever came across this one. :hmm:
I am enjoying the opportunity to become acquainted with a new to me Oz book.

Section 13 is PL OK.

Kaliko sounds as bad as his predecessor, Ruggedo.
