Hopefully this poem will meet the criteria. I did check it in the two sites you listed but didn't find it. As it falls into the time frame, I'm hoping it will be acceptable.

Oh yes, this one coming from a book published in 1927 is indeed in the public domain. I will listen a bit later and post again :D

Thank you
This sounds great!
You can use "read by kaykay" in your recordings, if that is what you'd like to go by
I'll enter this in the Magic Window now and mark it PL OK!

Thank you, Larry!

I don't mind duplicates at all! Did you mean you'd rather not use it in the collection? I've added both in the Magic Window, PL OK!

The Rev. William Duke you linked to must be a different one, because in the source book, the biography lists different dates. I used the dates and bio from the book for our database

Yeah, could be different. Thought I'd checked the dates.
The one poem appears it two other monthly collections, so I like to find new poems to read, but this is fine. Choices, and all that.

Thanks for all you do for these monthly collections! :9:

Aww, thank you so much for your heart-warming messages, everyone! :9:
I'm out of town this week till Friday, accessing the forum through my phone. I should be able to enjoy your readings from my phone when the time is right, but cataloguing for this month will have to wait till Friday, or Saturday. 🤞

Karenza, this was great! Thank you for offering it to the collection! When I update the Magic window, I will mark it PL OK! (I'm on my phone now, and it's a bit of a challenge).

Some general feedback: I noticed a few plosives on the sound of p and b. Depending on what kind of microphone you are using, you may be able to avoid plosives by changing the angle of the microphone, so that air/breath does not hit the microphone directly, or by using a pop filter.
Ending silence for this poem is fine, but in general make sure you have 5 seconds of silence (or room silence) at the very end.

Hi, Rapunzelina,

I'm past the deadline, so if this needs to bump over to June, I understand. I do have three recorded for June...I wasn't able to get anything done in May (hardly anything)...this is the only weekly poetry I even attempted! And then I missed that deadline, too. Sigh.

Let me know either way.

Thanks,
