I have long admired the narration of Sarah WIlliams. I can't find her name link except I see Ink Tree listed as the reader and her narrations are under that at least in the couple that I have checked out. The first time I ever heard her voice was listening to the: Memoirs of Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds, Volume 1, The Mississippi Scheme. Her voice in pronunciation is top tier. I have about 1,000 audio books so you see I am an avid listener. A good narrator can make or break the book. For me I can listen to almost any content if the reader is good. As it pertains to Mrs. Williams narrations I could listen to her voice forever! I am not sure if she is still producing for librivox but if so please keep up the amazing work!
I would like you to pass on to the reader of “A country Doctor”, only named as ‘Jeannie’, My sincere thanks for taking the time and care to read this book to be enjoyed by so many of us. Thank You, Jeannie
Like all readers I followed a winding path down the road seldom taken to arrive at Sarah Orne Jewett.
It was Willa Cather who introduced me to Ms Jewett, in an excellent collection of her writings under the heading, “Not Under Forty”.
Which I was delighted to find in, “Cather, Stories, poems and Other Writings.” In ‘The Library of America’ series
A country Doctor opens up a whole world previously unknown to me and probably to many readers.
I have listened to chapters nine and ten, a number of times to try and ‘un-pack’ all the information and opinions expressed there.
I have recommended to friends that they do the same just to get a taste of what the whole book has to offer.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Nada the Lily. Your pronunciation seemed authentic to my uneducated ear. Thank you for persevering to the end with such entertaining voices. Such a gruesome tale but I was captivated by your delivery.
This was quite an experience. Some books change your entire outlook. Not just the content (I had not read this book before, chapters 33 and 53!) but the way you, as the narrator, told the story. It was amazing. I laughed and cried. Your voices, the way you make people sound just seems, right and perfect. Each character was unique. Thank you for what I know must have been an immense effort.
From a listener at our house, after first hearing him read of Boswell and Johnson in the Hebrides, “anything he reads is worth listening to,”—which means he just loved it! So, thanks again

hey, thankyou so much for taking the time to record Two Years Before the Mast in 2013 - i've been listening following a recommendation from my dad, who likes his seafaring history
the dramatised sections are especially entertaining!
Thanks you Pete for your excellent reading of Ashton-Kirk, Investigator. Your voice, pacing and characterisation was absolutely perfect. In fact you made this sound a much better book than it really was
Such a pity you haven’t done more readings – please do more. Librivox should be using you as an example to other readers on how to do it right. Better than many of the readers on audible.
I really enjoyed your reading and am about to start on Ashton-Kirk, Secret Agent.
Big thanks to MaryAnn Spiegel for her outstanding narration of Anna Karenina! You are bringing me into Russian literature for the first time, and I am so grateful for the time you took to do this. It is appreciated!
