The Welsh Wars of Edward the First, by John Morris (1859 - 1933)
John Edward Morris (1859-1933) was a schoolmaster and historian. He graduated in 1882 from Magdalen College, Oxford (D.Litt. 1905), and was, till 1923, a master at Bedford Grammar School. His chief work is The Welsh Wars of Edward I, extending to 1295, with an introduction on the previous struggles between the Welsh and the Normans. The book is concerned not only with the actual fighting but also with the recruiting, the financing, and the equipment of the armies; and it is based not only on chronicles but also on record-material. IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Let's stay here a little longer. Maybe we can find a DPL.

Section Two.

I've just read it all, clocks in at about an hour and ten minutes, so I'm going to have to turn some of the chapters into two parts, starting with this one.

Section 2

Great reading. Just a few things I picked up. The missing line and the meaning changes are probably the only ones that need editing.

1:15 Missing line 'The men of the mountains fought in the gorilla fashion.'

9:42 I hear 'of Ludlow'
Reads 'to Ludlow'
Just a slight change in meaning.

13:09 I hear, 'did not aspire to independence'
Reads 'did not yet aspire to independence'

20:09 I hear '...an old Roman road lay along the coast'
Reads '...an old Roman road led along the coast'

23:41 I hear 'But while expiating...'
Reads 'But while extirpating...'
Change of meaning.
