Here are the introductory chapters and the conclusion Ready for PL:

https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/goldenrulecookbook_01_sharpe_128kb.mp3 14:09
https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/goldenrulecookbook_02_sharpe_128kb.mp3 14:16

I find it ironic to find the Biblical quotations, when there is nothing in either the OT or NT to support a religious or moral case for refraining from eating meat. Nonetheless, it is the healthiest diet. The menus do sound appetizing, for the most part.

Sorry to dump these all at once, but I'm on a marathon to get my recording load down, pending Marth's knee surgery and my trip to Myrtle Point for my nephew's memorial service.

Just wanted to let you know I will be gone the entire month of May so won't be able to fix any errors until then unless they can be proofread by Sunday.

Thanks.

Notes on Sections 1, 2, and 37:

Section 1:

TIME: 12:33 TEXT: "Nor have we cause to feel ashamed of" COMMENT: "Nor" sounds more like "now".

Section 2:

TIME: 13:53 TEXT: "clear sky, tilling the ground to provide the food of man" COMMENT: This phrase has a repeat in it.

Section 37:

PL OK

Greetings -

Sections 15 and 16 are both PL OK.

Personal observation: Two more sections of vegetables boiled, boiled, and boiled and then served on pieces of toast that have been dipped in water. I wonder what type of oil is referred to in the recipes.

Sorry...had to get that bit of sarcasm out of my system.

More sections to come.

Greetings -

Thanks to BettyB, Sections 20, 21, and 27 are now listed as PL OK.

Interesting to note that one recipe called for eating the leaves of rhubarb. Nowadays, due to high levels of oxalic acid, eating rhubarb leaves is considered to be a serious no-no.

Also, no inclusion of a recipe for fried green tomatoes, one of my favorite ways of eating tomatoes. Hmmm.

Notes on Section 8:

TIME: 10:46 TEXT: "then put it in a double boiler with 2 tablespoons of" COMMENT: Reading has "boiler" pronounced as "broiler" instead.

To make the reading sound smoother, you should trim the length of pauses between recipes to no more than two seconds.

Very good voice for reading out loud, Larry.

Hope to hear more from you in the near future.
