Thanks so much for the feedback. I definitely need more practice editing my work! My current recording style is to leave a long pause between sentences to make sure I have enough breath. Guess I'm removing too much blank space. I'll get better at it.

And drat! I leave a long 'header' at the beginning to get some silence when I run the noise reduction through audacity. Going to wear my newbie hat for the rest of the day.

New run time 22m 17 s

Have a great day.

Hi there, all! So this is my first story; my first recording. I'm very nervous, and excited. So.... here goes.

I found this one on Project Gutenburg: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/23308
The transcriber's note on the Ebook: "This etext was produced from Weird Tales March 1951. Extensive research did not uncover any evidence that the U.S. copyright on this publication was renewed." The EText version was put out in 2007.

Title: The White Feather Hex
Author: Don Peterson
Runtime: 25:49.00
Reader: Kristina Norman

Feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hello Kristina! Welcome here! I know the feeling of nervousness mingled with excitement! You did great! Thank you for your recording!

If you feel comfortable editing, there is one small point you could fix:
at around 22:30, the text is "the last link that could have corrected him was broken", I hear "unbroken". It might be an easy fix to just delete the "un" if the edit doesn't sound too rough. Since everything else is fine, I will mark the recording PL OK in the Magic Window, but feel free to re-upload if you manage this fix

That was an eerie story for me. I find curses and witchcraft pretty scary! Thanks!

I'm a bit familiar with interesting tales like this; I enjoy the odd twists. I am always interested in folk tales and such.

Sometimes it's the short ones that are the scariest! This has a humorous twist to it, however  That was funny!

Thank you, Dale! PL OK!

You're welcome! Yes, you should if you can! You have a talent for narration!
And if this collection is full, there'll be another one open.

The Young Man Who Wanted to Die

It's from Weird Tales Volume 1 number 1, should I include that in the recording?
