Greetings -

Jenno lends here fine voice to Sections 11, 12, 13, and 19 and we have four more sections on the PL OK roster.

Lomond -

I edited the following three sections, could you please Spot PL them.

18
https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/childrensbookofbirds_18_miller_128kb.mp3
reduced ending silence

35
https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/childrensbookofbirds_35_miller_128kb.mp3
corrected start and ending silence lengths, shortened silence before "end of..."
removed illustration text 02:34 (at 1:47 now)

47
https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/childrensbookofbirds_47_miller_128kb.mp3
corrected start and ending silence lengths, shortened silence before "end of..."
removed illustration text 01:20 (at 1:18 now) and 06:13 (at 6:07 now)

I was unable to find the notes for section 32, not that they are not there. I don't know if they are items that I can easily edit or not.

Thanks,

Greetings -

A mystery here...

It seems my PL notes for Section 32 have gone missing. Hmmmmm.

But, I have found them.

Somehow, I had attributed them to Chapter 14 which had not been read yet.

They can be found on Forum Page 13 on January 8th.

Section 18 and 35 are now PL OK.

Section 47 needs six seconds cut off the beginning silence period.

And that is why it is always a good idea to have things double checked. I can't believe I missed shortening the opening silence in section 47.
It is Ready for Spot PL again.
https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/childrensbookofbirds_47_miller_128kb.mp3
new time is 6:51

Section 32 is also Ready for Spot PL.
https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/childrensbookofbirds_32_miller_128kb.mp3
new time is 13:54

Changes to 32:
The silent period at the beginning needs to be cut in half. shortened

TIME: 01:16 TEXT: "ground, and all of them eat insects." COMMENT: There is a repeat in this phrase. deleted at about 1:14

TIME: 01:23 TEXT: "their feeding grounds freeze up in" COMMENT: There is a repeat in this phrase. deleted at about 1:19

TIME: 04:52 TEXT: "Robins are very easily made tame" COMMENT: Reading has "aren't" instead of "are". corrected at about 4:48

TIME: 08:15 TEXT: "HERMIT THRUSH" COMMENT: This is actually the caption for an illustration and does not need to be read. deleted at about 8:03

TIME: 09:15 TEXT: "they knew, the cries ceased." COMMENT: There is a repeat in this phrase. deleted at about 9:07

TIME: 13:30 TEXT: "he had parted with a dear friend." COMMENT: There is a repeat in this phrase. deleted at about 13:21

Hi,
Here is Section 40 (Warblers)

https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/childrensbookofbirds_40_miller_128kb.mp3

I'm not sure if I did the opening correctly. Also, let me know if the volume is too uneven.
Thank you for the extension. Appreciate!

RE: Chapter 40

Just one needed correction keeps this from being PL OK.

At the very end, you do not need to read the FOOTNOTE comment. Otherwise, definitely PL OK.

My best snowy owl story:

Word spread rapidly a few years ago that a snowy owl had been spotted on the Oregon Coast not that long of drive from where I live. Drove there, walked about a half mile up one side of the spit, walked about a third of a mile across the spit, and back down the spit for the half mile. Not a sign of the owl. Headed back to the parking lot when, low and behold you, there was this beautiful snowy owl about 150 feet from the parking lot. Gorgeous bird.

Let's hear more from you real soon.

Lomond, thanks for PL-ing. Footnote comment removed. Time is 8:46:97 (so I should just say, 8:47?) Here is the link:

Loved your best snowy owl story! Isn't that the way it can go sometimes, we don't have to look too far?! We have a Snowy Owl that likes to stay in our Pine Trees certain times of the year. I live near a famous area where people come from all over the world to bird watch. BTW, in the Warbler story, when it talks about their "beautiful" nest, I know for a fact that the Warbler likes to take window screen mesh, so that must be what the "silvery stuff" the author talks about, LOL. I actually have a photo of one taking strands out of a window screen on my house.

My goal is to have Section 46-The Sparrow and Finch Family by this weekend.
Thanks for your encouragement and comments!
