Thanks for the sleuthing, Elsie! This is quite a few more than I even remember seeing before, and I know I've never read a Henty in multiple volumes. Now, I'm quite curious...

Agreed, Ashton, I'd love to get more Henty on here. I've been telling myself that When London Burned is going to be my next solo, but I'm moving quite slowly on the current one, and I keep signing up for more things!
If there's one in particular you'd like to see as a group project, I'll gladly take the role of Book Coordinator to set it up, and we can see who else joins us. If the one you'd prefer is indeed When London Burned, then, well, there's no shortage of other Henty books for my next solo.

I'd love to get in on reading some collaborative Henty one of these days! Still brand new to Librivox, & already signed up for a couple chapters, as well as tentatively looking toward a goal of soloing "Men of Iron" by Howard Pyle -so I'd probably better not commit to anything- but definitely interested...

I assume that since "The Cat of Bubastes," "The Dragon and the Raven," and "For the Temple" aren't on the list, that means they're already recorded? Those were always some of my favorites.

The multi-volume ones piqued my interest too, as well as "By Right of Conquest," "Lion of the North," and "Held Fast for England."

Yeah - any that are not on the list I didn't include since they are already recorded. But we have a choice of voice policy so we welcome multiple recordings of the same book. Once you get settled in here and have a few sections completed, you could do solo of one of the already recorded Henty books.

I'm taking a quick refresher look at By Right of Conquest, as it's one I've read before. I'll also need to check that the chapters aren't too long for a single section each, but then I can post to Launchpad as BC this afternoon. I'll post back here when I do. :D

Your wish has been granted. You are cordially invited to join.

Edit: Well, we'll start another shortly. Doing multiples of the same book is not at all a problem, but we did set out to do one that hasn't been recorded yet. I'm checking through others that I recognize, since it's been quite a while since I read most of them.

Well, you're cordially re-invited, and I hope you enjoy Held Fast for England as much as I did the first time around, whether it's one of your 12 or not. 8-)

On it! I didn't see a Publish date in the Gutenberg file.
Wikipedia had 1894, so I'll use that unless someone knows better.

Hello. I would like to claim "In the Heart of the Rockies" if it still remains unrecorded. I've completed 3 chapters of G.K. Chesterton’s 'The Return of Don Quixote' and have something like a routine down for recording and would like to attempt a whole book.

If you can give any guidance for someone doing this for the first time other than what's in the header post, it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey Alan!

The instructions for starting a solo recording are here: viewtopic.php?t=13513

If you need a DPL, put a ~ in front of your subject line to indicate your need to others.

Good luck and have fun :D

Thank you! I'm starting the process...

Unfortunately, I get this error when trying to submit the Project Template:

"This page isn’t working right now
librivox.org can't currently handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500"

Is there a common workaround to this issue?

Thanks,

Alan
