I can DPL this for you. Looks like an unusual play but will be interesting :wink:
Thanks a lot, Alan! It is greatly appreciated :mrgreen:

Alright Todd, Alan has kindly agreed to be my DPL so I would like to do:

Hi, Todd! Here's a play for this collection:

* "An Eligible Situation: An Eccentricity in One Act" by Thomas Archer and J.C. Brough
* https://archive.org/details/drawingroomplay00scotgoog/page/n182/mode/1up
* Thomas Archer, 1789?–1848 (couldn't find him on Wikipedia: https://catalog.libraries.psu.edu/catalog/2106204); J.C. Brough, 1834–1872 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Cargill_Brough)
* No link on Wikipedia
* 11 roles (see note below)
* Unknown--in the nineteenth century; this edition is from 1870
* Characters:
1. Miss Pigeon, a single lady, living semi-detached
2. Bertha, her niece, with a decided attachment
3. Mrs. Skillet, a lady of vigorous principles, with a talent for "cutting"
4. Mrs. Smallboy
5. Miss Keggs
6. Susan, a parlour-maid
7. Robert Smallboy, Esq., a victim of circumstances, a prey to mystery
8. Frank Verditer, an artist, with an eye to the beautiful
9. Cuffs, alias Walker, a member of the guild of artful science
10. Potboy
11. Stage Directions

Note--the dramatis personae lists several more parts (policeman, bodiless voices of the drama and night), but on a read through, I didn't see any actual lines.

I'll BC, PL the parts, and do the editing. I'll need someone to PL the entire file eventually.

A pair of lovers, a suspicious husband, attempted robbery, and preparations for a charity fair--how many disparate elements can we fit into one small farce? Will Mr. Smallboy get satisfaction? Will true love prevail? And who has the spoons?

If I may, I'll read stage directions for the above "An Eligible Situation". The stage setup in this play seems a little unusual, and the situation fun to describe. :wink:

Stephanie, I'll not take it amiss if you have any requests, whether for style and energy of the narration or for processing the audio file. If there's anything I can do to make it better or easier to work with this time around, just let me know. :)

Hi, redrun,

Thanks--I will gladly welcome your reading of the stage directions. I really have NO idea how this one is going to turn out, but it is...um...unusual. The description of the physical comedy in and of itself amuses me...

Thanks,
Stephanie
