Sectıon 5 is pl ok. Interesting and rather gratifying to hear this author's views coincide with Oman's on the rights of the papacy in relation to nation states.

Thanks, pattymarie!

Somehow this doesn’t surprise me. I think they were both part of the Anglican establishment. I should know more, though, since I recorded two of Oman’s books!

My best,

Sectıon 6 is pl ok. :) Yes, rather lacking in the characteristics of a good shepherd.

Section 7 is pl ok. This one recounts two horrific massacres that I hadn't heard of, or had forgotten. The one at the end is more cruel than outright dispatching of victims.

Section 8 is pl ok. This it's the poor horses dying miserably that shakes me, not that the queen of Naples didn't die horribly, too.

Section 9 PL Notes:

16:13 - 16:41 Repetition of “Surrounded by a band of reckless ruffians, himself as reckless and as ruffianly as the worst of them, Urban showed courage equal to any danger, and his spirit was undaunted amidst all hardships." I'd be hard put to choose which version to keep, though the second reading evinces a bit more colorful expression. :)

Section 10 is PL OK.
