Thanks once again, Dan! I’ll put it in the MW after the weekend if Danigirl or Tricia don’t get to it first. (I have difficulty doing this part on my phone!)

Hello Stephanie
Any suggestions for sound improvement? I ran this thru Checker
I am wondering how many reports are in the pipeline?
Herman Viola's biography calls McKenney, "a humanitarian, too idealistic".
Sad but true I think.

Hi, Dan,

I've put this into the MW for PL. Hopefully Danigirl can get to it soon. Danigirl can also make suggestions on sound improvement.

I assume you mean how many other years do I have lined up. The answer is that there aren't any more with McKenney that I could find, although Sue and I discussed some additional works by him over in the Short Nonfiction Collection 096 (a couple volumes of Native American history and a memoir). I recorded JUST the report from 1825 (that's all that the NYPL had in that particular volume). The next one I could find is similar--it's from 1830, but that one is written by Samuel S. Hamilton. I plan to record it with the tables for the next SNF collection, but you are always welcome to do it! https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=nyp.33433081678900&view=1up&seq=5

I am slowly working on the behind-the-scenes group project work for the next annual report that I could find that includes the supporting reports. That one is from 1837 (https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=nyp.33433081678918&view=1up&seq=6), and then I've found them through at least 1849. I know there are a lot more out there past that point, but I just haven't recorded the URLs yet.

So, the answer is that we could keep going for quite some time, if we have the readers! The rest of these projects will actually be larger than this one, although more of the writing will be official reports instead of the chatty letters from McKenney.

Do let me know if I misunderstood your question.

Thanks,
Stephanie
