It sounds good to me, Robert. The noise floor is quite low and the voice stands out nicely. Good job! :D

Best of luck in Atlanta!

Thanks, Chip. Coming from you, that means a lot. I sprung for the M-Audio MobilePre USB audio interface and the M-Audio Nova mic. There's a lot to learn since I have no background in radio or announcing. But what's life without learning?

I do quite a bit of public speaking so I could never really get used to the headgear I was using before. I kept thinking I was doing customer support!

I'm sure it will be fun in Atlanta. It will be the usual scene-- a bunch of engineers and computer geeks from around the world coming to a convention. But it will be good to see some of the team I work with but usually via the net or phone.

Later,

Robert

Robert, all very clean now.

Laura, a clear recording; you're getting a little bit of echo/resonance, but it's not intrusive.

Scott, very clean and well-paced.

Thank you all.

I'm not sure if this one qualifies as short, and it has a narrative, so it could possibly go in short stories, but it is verse. Let me know if it better belongs elsewhere.

Let me know if the volume's better on this one, please. I did some fiddling with my mike settings.

Thanks,

Hi

I have recorded a version of Andrew Marvell's To His Coy Mistress a poem that I have always liked and it always make me smile.

It's here.

The Bartleby version comes from here.

Cheers

Here's one more from me:

The Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear
http://www.shininghalf.com/sharepics/owl_pussycat_lear_lf.mp3

This was the weekly poem when I first found Librivox (so PD status should be confirmed there), and I was so pained that I didn't get my mic and my nerve in order quickly enough to record it. (Plus it's a little extra onerous to do a piece you love as much as I love this), but someone told me I could do it for the Short Poetry Collection, so it's been in my pile of scripts ever since, and I finally decided, just get it done! So here it is. Hope you like it!

Thanks, everyone; all downloaded to this point. Life's been getting a little rushed, so I've not been able to settle to listen much this week; will check them on Saturday.
