COMPLETE - Short Poetry Collection 006 - PO/ll
It sounds good to me, Robert. The noise floor is quite low and the voice stands out nicely. Good job!
Best of luck in Atlanta!

Thanks, Chip. Coming from you, that means a lot. I sprung for the M-Audio MobilePre USB audio interface and the M-Audio Nova mic. There's a lot to learn since I have no background in radio or announcing. But what's life without learning?ChipDoc wrote:It sounds good to me, Robert. I do quite a bit of public speaking so I could never really get used to the headgear I was using before. I kept thinking I was doing customer support!
I'm sure it will be fun in Atlanta. It will be the usual scene-- a bunch of engineers and computer geeks from around the world coming to a convention. But it will be good to see some of the team I work with but usually via the net or phone.
Later,
Robert

I'm not sure if this one qualifies as short, and it has a narrative, so it could possibly go in short stories, but it is verse. Let me know if it better belongs elsewhere.

Let me know if the volume's better on this one, please. I did some fiddling with my mike settings.
Thanks,
Gabe

Here's one more from me:
The Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear
http://www.shininghalf.com/sharepics/owl_pussycat_lear_lf.mp3
This was the weekly poem when I first found Librivox (so PD status should be confirmed there), and I was so pained that I didn't get my mic and my nerve in order quickly enough to record it. (Plus it's a little extra onerous to do a piece you love as much as I love this), but someone told me I could do it for the Short Poetry Collection, so it's been in my pile of scripts ever since, and I finally decided, just get it done! So here it is. Hope you like it!
