8-) great to have you in this one as well, Julie. The title sounds either romantic or suspenseful, I'm curious which it will be.

Thanks

thank you Paula, and welcome to the Black Cat as well :) I hope you enjoy the story, it definitely sounds a bit like X-Files from the title  I'm curious how it will turn out.

And that makes us fully claimed already and I'll move over to Readers Found.

Happy reading, everyone.

I'd appreciate a thorough PL, as this is my first lengthier recording. Thank you!

wow Meredith, wonderful narrative, very lively and spoken in character, which I love. :9: This is a great debut for your "lengthier sections" and I hope there will be many more (maybe even in a future black cat). Your pacing is nice, not too fast, not too slow, easy to follow along with the plot. And what a plot here  Well I'm glad Austin doesn't have to marry teasing Gertrude, I don't think they would have been a good fit anyway.

One suggestion I would like to make though, concerning some lengthy pauses. For most of the time you pacing is well, but sometimes you exceed over 2 seconds of silence, which I personally find very long for a listener to wait until the story progresses. I always suggest staying between 1 and 1.5 seconds maximum even between paragraphs that should be enough to make a good break. Could you maybe cut them down a bit in the following time stamps:

> from 0:30 to 0:32: between "section 4" and "The love chase"
> from 0:37 to 0:39: between "Tomkins" and "The Lathrops"
> from 8:19 to 8:21: (p. 28) between "in love" and "the first half"
> from 22:48 to 22:51: (p. 35) between "close range" and "a couple of hours"
> from 24:51 to 24:54: (p. 36) between "great deal" and "The early train"
> from 27:41 to 27:43: (p. 37) between "still radiant" and "end of section 4"

and lastly, one important cut needs to be made at the end:

> at 27:47: the final book end disclaimer can be cut here, as your section is not the last section of the project. This will only be spoken by the reader who has the last section in any project. So just stop at "End of Section 4" and then the final 5 seconds of silence

Thank you, it was very entertaining to listen to.
