LIBRIVERSARIES – February 2023

At Librivox, we value ALL our volunteers. Whether you participate daily, weekly, or just every now and then, you are part of our Librivox family. We are grateful for your contributions.

This month we celebrate 133 *active members*(defined below) who joined in February a year or more ago, and send a hearty round of applause for "job well done" and "thank you for still being here". As you run across these names in your projects (now alphabetized for each year), how about giving them a high five or pat on the back, and direct them to this page (which they may not even know about) to see who else shares their Libriversary month and year.

*“Active member”* is defined by some level of volunteerism within the past 12 months. If you think your name has been left off this list, or misspelled, please PM msfry. Members who become active again after a long absence and are still in our Membership database, can make the list in future years. The current Libriversary announcement is a Sticky at the top of the News Forum. Past Libriversaries don't disappear . . . they can be found in the forum as well, by date published.

Don't remember when you signed up? You can tell by checking the right hand column in every post you make.

I remember hearing Hugh McGuire talk about LibriVox in an NPR interview. I had been retired 3 1/2 months and was receptive. LV itself was only 2 months older!
I believe I signed up the next day!

Did you have any prior recording experience? You should know that the first experience I had with Librivox was to listen to your version of The Mysterious Island. I've been hooked ever since!

I am 1 year old this month. (Feb 2022 -joined Librivox) )I’ve learned a lot this last year. Special shout out to Larry (Silverquill) and Jim Hendricks getting me through my newbie phase. Since joining I have tweaked my recording booth to get a noise floor of -77, upgraded my mic to a Ride NT 1, added RX Izotope 19 to my editing arsenal and had a session with the famous Uncle Roy Y. to help polish my editing skills. I am loving recording.

Uncle Roy Yokelson is quite well known in the voice over community. One thing he does is check your sound and set up presets/macros to help your editing. He was a lifesaver for me. You can find him on Facebook.
