and so we meet again, DC :) I think I already predicted in the Baital Pachchisi that you might enjoy drama well. And you got a bit of practice playing jealous characters there already ;)

So here you are, and Saida is nicely portrayed. The calm, calculatingly spiteful voice is perfect for this character. Though the devil will later coax even more passion out of her. Looking forward to the next part.

Thanks, the first act is PL ok.

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/beautystone_nicholas_2.mp3 (one and a bit smidgeons)

A bit of an overstuffed buffoon. But the whole play is ridiculous, so he fits right in.

I didn't know what to do with "chorus" lines, so I didn't read them. I realise I might have done bad,
in which case I will be forced forever to use adjectives as adverbs as a penance.

I did not want to have to align files from a gazillion folks so most people don't have any chorus roles. Instead, there are a few roles entrusted with all the choral sections. And The Burgomaster is not one of them.

Thanks, Todd

actually he was in Act 3, not Act 2...I looked like crazy in Act 2 before noticing

A very pompous burgomaster, excellently portrayed, thanks Adrian. And yes, the chorus lines are mentioned in the MW, for those roles which need to take part in them. Your role doesn't have to include them.

Both PL ok.

I'm glad to see another Pinero play on the docket! May I read Baldwyn of Ath?

I'm glad you had fun, and it definitely sounds like it  This is a wonderful offering for your very first role !!!! I especially loved the laughs you are bringing in at the right spots. The lusty snigger at the end of the first stanza was priceless. You are characterizing such a beauty queen quite accurately. At least she is highly confident that the men speak true when they rave about her beauty.

The part is absolutely PL ok. I only wish she had a bigger role. But there's plenty more plays out there, and I sincerly hope to hear you in another one in the near future. :)

Thank you for the performance.

Todd, here is your trusty page Jacques. It was heartbreaking to see this life-loving village wench turned into servitude and then falling in love with her master who then dumped her and left her "a sadder and a wiser girl". I was hoping she would recover her carefreeness again in the end, but the devil scarred her for life :( (you should really clip your nails)

Thanks for coordinating these Pinero plays, Todd! I'd love to voice roles in any future ones you might coordinate.

Ah, wonderfully wenched and wretched. (Sorry - I play classical guitar - long nails come with the territory.)

PL OK.

Thanks, Todd
